How Wildfluence collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Last updated: May 2025
Plain-language summary: We only collect information you give us through our contact form. We use it to respond to your enquiry and, if relevant, to manage a working relationship. We do not sell your data, run advertising, or add you to mailing lists without your consent. Full details are below.
1. Who We Are
Wildfluence is a safari influencer management agency based in South Africa. We connect premium African safari lodges with vetted content creators, managing influencer campaigns end-to-end on behalf of both parties.
References to 'Wildfluence', 'we', 'us', or 'our' in this policy refer to Wildfluence and its operators. Our primary contact address is info@wildfluence.com.
2. What Information We Collect
We collect personal information only when you actively provide it to us — primarily through our contact form. This includes your name, email address, the nature of your enquiry (lodge, creator, or other), any qualifying detail you provide (such as a property name or social media handle), and the content of your message.
We do not use tracking cookies, behavioural advertising, or third-party analytics tools that collect personal data passively. We do not collect sensitive personal information such as identity numbers, financial details, or medical information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you submit to respond to your enquiry, assess whether there is a potential fit between your needs and our services, and communicate with you about working together. We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing, and we do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
If a working relationship is established, we may retain relevant contact and profile information to manage campaign logistics, communications, and reporting. This information is held securely and used only for the purposes of the relationship.
4. Third-Party Services
Our contact form uses EmailJS, a third-party email delivery service, to transmit your message to us. Your submission data passes through EmailJS's servers in order to deliver the message. EmailJS operates under its own privacy policy, which can be reviewed at emailjs.com. We have configured our usage to transmit only what is necessary to deliver your message.
Our website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may process standard server-side request data (such as IP addresses and request logs) as part of normal hosting infrastructure. Vercel's privacy policy applies to this processing.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties for commercial purposes.
5. Legal Basis and POPIA Compliance
Wildfluence operates from South Africa and is subject to the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). We process personal information lawfully, for a specific purpose, and only to the extent necessary for that purpose.
The legal basis for processing enquiry data is your consent, given when you complete and submit our contact form. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us at info@wildfluence.com. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
6. Data Retention
Enquiry data from contacts who do not proceed to a working relationship is retained for up to 12 months, after which it is securely deleted. This allows us to follow up meaningfully and keep a record of prior communications.
Information relating to active or completed working relationships (lodges and creators) may be retained for longer where required by legal, contractual, or accounting obligations. We will not retain data beyond what is necessary for its stated purpose.
7. Your Rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, and to request deletion of your information where we no longer have a lawful basis to retain it.
You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your rights have been infringed. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@wildfluence.com.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Our website uses HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Access to stored information is limited to individuals who require it to perform their duties.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are directed at professionals — lodge operators, marketing teams, and adult content creators. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe we have inadvertently received information from a minor, please contact us immediately at info@wildfluence.com.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the 'Last updated' date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of our website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
We encourage you to review this page periodically. If we make material changes that affect how we handle your information, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you directly where we have your contact details.
11. Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or about how Wildfluence handles your personal information, please contact us at info@wildfluence.com. We aim to respond to all privacy-related enquiries within five business days.
